Independence Day

Here is our little firecracker, excited to get her day started this morning. Each day brings a new "No - Ella do it!" moment as she reminds us how independent she has become.

Ella has declared independence in the following ways:
- turning on the water for herself when washing hands
- taking off her own clothes and diaper at bathtime
- putting on her own shoes and socks
- sticking her arms through her shirt on her own
- turning on her Cinderella nightlight at bedtime
- not wanting to be pushed on her bike
- putting her plate in the sink when done eating
- feeding the cats their dry food
- walking down our backstairs instead of being held
- climbing into the carseat on her own

While it is an awesome feeling to see this little person exerting her rights and asking for more independence, I am sad to see my little one not need me quite so much. A bittersweet moment for sure.

In the meantime, we are wishing a Happy Independence Day in your house, too!
