Homecoming

Last week we had a long trip to the former homeland, Minnesota. I was there for three days of looooong client meetings (fun to present for hours with a head cold and no voice), and Dan and Ella drove up to meet me there. He was very brave, since you would never catch me driving 6+ hours alone with a two year old. We borrowed my mom's portable DVD player and they had a good time! We had lots of fun family time, and Ella saw her cousins for the first time since the fall. Above, Wylie is 4, Ella is holding her caterpillar, Tori is 9 months and Kasey is 2 1/2. They played outside (well, before the inches of snow fell in late April), made cookies, painted, played in the house and had lots of fun. We also got to hang out with Ella's Uncle Dave and his girlfriend, Jocelyn, as well as Grandma Joyce and Grandpa. I also got a girl's night with JoLynn at a wine bar.

Even with all the famil time we still managed to find time to see friends. We had drinks Friday night with a group of college friends, Ella had a play date with Hannah and Ellie, and we got to celebrate Gus's first birthday with a big crowd of friends! Ella was a little uncertain about Gus - maybe due to the exuberance he showed in hugs (check left) - but still had a great time.

Since we got back, Ella keeps saying she wants Minnesota. I suspect her dad may be behind this cheerleading efforts, but she really did have a great time there. And the funny part is, I don't know if the title of this blog entry refers to Wednesday or Sunday...

It was great having you all here, and I am sorry for my child's actions - caught on camera, indeed! In Gus's defense, who wouldn't want to take a little bite out of Ella?
