I see spots!

After a relatively healthy stretch, Ella went to the doctor yesterday for the first time since September. We got our money's worth with three diagnoses and three prescriptions. The impetus for the vist was hives all over her body, which broke out Saturday night before bed and worsened by Sunday morning. A call to the doctor Sunday advised Benadryl since she seemed to be having an allergic reaction.
Since she was still spotted on Monday morning (pitcture to left is from Sunday before it was too bad), I took her in to get a "not contagious" note so she could go to daycare. It turns out she also had an ear infection - her first ever -and a skin condition on her inner elbow from always sucking her thumb and having it bent (bandage on inner elbow). So she's got drugs for each of the three, and so far the hives keep coming back like clockwork when the Benadryl wears off. She has been in a very good mood, so the ear infection was a big surprise. Apparently she has a high threshold for pain!
Dan and I are playing forensic analysts and trying to determine the cause of the allergies. He has his fingers crossed that its the cats so that he can live a fur-less life. It might have been the new Mexican restaurant we tried Saturday night, but she's had a ton of it before. So we are hoping for no more reactions and to figure out the cause of the hives. Hope everyone else is healthy!
