List of Favorites

We were hit with a snow storm here today, canceling our mini-pizza party with Jen & Ben but Ella got to hang out with William from across the hall. After she opened her cart fron Grandma & Grandpa, William brought his over for a playdate and then they had a tea party. But then the kid was asking to go to bed at 6:30 because she was so tired from yesterday. We kept her up until 7:20 before she crashed without stalling.

Since these posts double as Ella's baby book, I wanted to capture her list of "favorites" at age two.

Favorite cereal: Honeycomb

Favorite pajamas: green fleece with kitty ("kitty jammies") - from William

Favorite song to sing: Twinkle, Twinkle

Favorite song to be sung: Ella Claire (to tune of Braham's Lullaby)

Favorite Disney princess: Despite my best efforts to ban all things princess, she knows who CinderELLA is and points her out everywhere we see her (but she doesn't know what a princess is! so partial victory for me)

Favorite TV character: Elmo -one of the only one she knows

Favorite negotiation strategy: "One more time" or "One more "

Favorite bedtime stall tactic: "One more hug!"

Favorite stop on the way home: "Sunny's!" who is our dry cleaner

Favorite letter: O - for her fridge alphabet she seeks it out first

Favorite shoes: "Stripes" (Nikes with pink swoosh & silver stripes) just replaced her "Hearts" (flashing heart sneakers)

Favorite foods: Hot dogs & chicken nuggets



Today was also Ella's two year check up. Since we were in two weeks ago, Ella and I have had a lot of discussion about going back to see Dr. Kumar and everything that would happen at the appt. She wowed Dr. Kumar by repeating her name over and over (Dr. Kumar's, that is). Dr. Kumar said she didn't need to ask if she was talking much because Ella was going on and on.

Everything else looked good, the ear infection is gone, eczema good for now. Ella also weighed in at 24 lbs, 9 oz (50th percentile) and is 33 3/4 inches tall (50th percentile). When it was time for the immunization at the end, Ella knew it was coming and that she would get a sticker and Goldfish crackers afterward. It didn't make the broken-hearted look of betrayal she threw at me as the needle went in any easier to swallow. But the fact her crying was done in 10 seconds and then she was talking about her new owie was all the sticker and crackers I needed!
